How to play Risk of Rain 2 on Mac

We’ve played Risk of Rain 2 on Mac with a friend using Steam on Windows. Here’s how to get started.

Get the game running

1. Install portfinch on your M-series Mac. You’ll need macOS 15 or later.
2. Open Steam inside portfinch and sign in to your Steam account.
3. Install Risk of Rain 2 from your Steam library.
4. Run the game.

Play with your Windows friends

Once the game is running through Steam, join your friend’s lobby or invite them to yours.

Our test was a run with a friend using Windows Steam. It doesn’t establish compatibility with every mod or multiplayer setup.
